The Pierre/Fort Pierre area of central South Dakota is fortunate to have two world-class walleye fishing destinations in Lake Sharpe and Lake Oahe on the Missouri River. We typically kick off our season in early April on Lake Sharpe, where walleyes move into the river in preparation for the spawn. As the season advances and the water warms, Lake Oahe becomes the preferred body of water. Lake Oahe is renowned for its abundant population of eater-sized walleyes and exceptional trophy walleye opportunities. Both lakes offer great options for guided fishing trips, allowing anglers to employ nearly any technique they prefer, while providing invaluable learning experiences for fishers of all skill levels.

Depending on conditions and the time of year, we can tailor your trip to focus on specific techniques you’d like to learn or improve:
**It’s important to note for trophy trips that South Dakota regulations allow only one walleye over 20 inches per angler per day. Any walleye that cannot be safely released will be kept and counted toward the angler’s possession limit, even if the fish is over 20 inches and not what the angler considers a trophy. Respecting and preserving our resources is of utmost importance to us.
